Valentine’s Day Mini Unit!

Hey, y’all!  I just uploaded a fun little Valentine’s Day Mini-Unit made to use with the books Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (by Judi Barrett) and The Day it Rained Hearts (by Felicia Bond).  It’s perfect to add to your Valentine’s activities, use with “ai”/”ay” words, use with comparing and contrasting, or if you’re studying weather {shockingly, we’re doing all FOUR this week!!!!}.
The mini-unit will be ON SALE for $5.50 until Wednesday and will then return to regular price of $6.50 after that.  The unit includes:
  • 1 Literacy Center: ai/ay word sort {a play on The Day it Rained Hearts} + corresponding recording sheet
  • 1 Literacy Center: noun/verb word sort {with words from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs} + corresponding recording sheet
  • 4 printable activity sheets that correspond to the books
  • 3 art project ideas
Here’s a sample of one of the art activities/printables included:
Go snag ya one  if you’re still on the prowl for lovey dovey activities 🙂
Have a great day!!!!

I used this unit and the kids did such a great job! Their writing samples were just so great, especially those who wrote about wanting meatballs to rain from the sky 🙂 Thanks!

These twenty-five FREE literacy center activities are easy to introduce, skill-oriented yet basic enough for kindergarten and first grade students to complete independently, and low-prep. Does it get any better?!
